Cellulite has traditionally been one of the hardest problems to treat. Unfortunately, it does not discriminate. Even the most fit person can develop these irritating and unsightly dimples and waves in the skin. We finally have two very good options for reducing cellulite – Cellulaze!
Cellulaze™ is an FDA-approved treatment that targets cellulite precisely at the source, in the underlying structural tissue. Topical lotions and creams are no match for the precision and long-lasting results of the Cellulaze laser treatment.
At the Center for Facial and Body Rejuvenation, our board-certified facial plastic surgeons approach every procedure individually. We spend time with you to understand what you wish to correct, and we examine you carefully to determine the best plan to achieve your goals.
Your Cellulaze Procedure
Cellulaze can be done using a local anesthetic. Tiny incisions – so small that they don’t even require a single stitch – are made in the areas to be treated. A tiny cannula (tube) is used, and a laser fiber is threaded through the cannula to melt the excess fat cells and break up the fibrous bands. The entire procedure takes 1-2 hours.
The laser will melt fat, release the fibrous bands that pull down on the skin (which cause that annoying dimpled appearance), and promote collagen production, which has been clinically shown to result in improved skin thickness and elasticity. By targeting these three areas, Cellulaze effectively minimizes the appearance of cellulite.
Recovering from Cellulaze
You will go home with dressings on the incisions, and you will wear a compression garment for two weeks following the procedure. Cellulaze provides immediate results, but the improvement continues gradually for 6 months or longer.
You should be able to return to work in 1-2 days, but we recommend that you avoid exercise for a couple of weeks.
You might have some tenderness, swelling, and mild bruising, but these symptoms typically resolve within a few days. You can take non-prescription pain medication, if necessary.
No two patients are the same, but the results of Cellulaze have lasted 30 months or longer in some cases.
