Dr. Jacqueline T. Cheng and Dr. Elbert T. Cheng are the only brother and sister facial surgery team practicing in the United States.

How we work: Its synergy.

What is most advantageous about working as a brother-sister team is that, although we bring the same instincts and dedication to our work, we also bring two sets of experience, two minds, and two sets of eyes to benefit of our patients. We often work independently with patients, but in some more complex cases, we work together before, during and after surgery. This flexibility allows for true collaboration and very successful results.

Elbert T. Cheng, MD

Dr. Elbert Cheng is a double-board certified facial plastic surgeon in Saratoga, California. He was raised in Mountain View and attended Stanford for his undergraduate studies, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors. Still wanting to pursue his love for science, he traveled to England and undertook research and additional studies at Oxford University.

Once back in the US, he completed his Medical Degree at Duke University and returned to his roots, Stanford, for his residency in Head and Neck Surgery. After five years of intense training, he traveled to Indianapolis for one additional year of focused study with the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. This sparked a passion in aesthetic surgery, where he was able to combine his love for teaching, medicine and helping patients achieve their idea of beauty.

After his fellowship, he decided to return to the Bay Area to embark on his own journey alongside his sister, Dr. Jacqueline, to create a practice unique to their dynamic and unmatched skill. Dr. Elbert is passionate about many things in his life, and his wife and children are at the top of the list. He is a sports enthusiast and is an avid runner, swimmer and golfer.

Background & Credentials

Dr. Elbert is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Medical Association, and the Santa Clara County Medical Society. He has been an Advanced Allergan Trainer and Instructor for over 15 years; training over 500 doctors and providers all throughout the state of California.

Above all else – Dr. Elbert biggest passion in the field of facial plastic surgery is the cycle of learning and teaching, as he strongly believes the best teachers are the best learners. Throughout 17 years, Dr. Elbert and Jacqueline Cheng have consistently mentored high school and college students with a passion for surgery and held externships for medical assistants. For this reason, Dr. Elbert continues to partake in medical research to always have the most up to date knowledge of the field to better educate his audience. Most importantly, he feels he learns the most from his daily interactions with his patients, and becomes a better doctor because of it.

Giving Back

In addition to his love for teaching, Dr. Elbert holds a strong passion for helping those who need it most. During a trip to Honduras in 2015 with FootSteps Missions, he was able to help economically orphaned children by building housing and teaching facilities to aid in their mental, physical and emotional development. This passion translates into Dr. Elbert’s daily interactions with his patients – providing them with compassion and support to not only help them with their idea of physical beauty, but help them reach their highest level of emotional and mental confidence as well. These ideals shared between Dr. Elbert and his staff is what will always set Cheng Plastic Surgery apart from the rest.

She has since created a very well-known and respected medical practice alongside her brother, Dr. Elbert. Although surgery and aesthetic procedures are what she loves to do, Dr. Jacqueline finds the relationships she cultivates with her patients to be the most rewarding part. Her patients and staff jokingly describe Dr. Jacqueline as a “full time doctor, part time therapist” because of her genuine care and compassion for her patients, not just surgically but in their personal lives as well. As she guides each patient through their physical and emotional aesthetic journey, they not only become her patient but a life-long friend.

Trainer of other surgeons

Being a respected expert in her field, she is often called upon to train other physicians. She has published many articles and chapters on Facial Plastic Surgery that have been presented at national meetings, and has been recognized in the media for her unique expertise on facial aesthetics. Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Friday, March 20, 2020:

Even with social distancing, we're still here for you.

During this difficult time, we will continue to try and be there for all of you in any capacity we can. To protect ourselves, our staff, our community and of course, you, we will still continue to refrain from seeing patients in the office (unless urgent or emergent) until the Shelter-in-Place Ordinance has been lifted. But this doesn't mean all communication stops!⁣

As social distancing, self-isolation and shelter-in-place are extremely important during this time, so is trying our best to still keep a sense of "normalcy" within our daily routines. Communication is a fundamental component of everyday life and something we strongly believe is key to alleviating stress, anxiety and even depression. If we can be a pillar of relief, happiness or normality in the not-so-normal climate we are experiencing - we've done our job not only as your physician, but as your friend.

If you are interested in simply just chatting, advice on the current health crisis, a follow up to a treatment or planning for a future procedure, both Dr. Elbert and Dr. Jacqueline will be doing Virtual FaceTime Appointments starting Monday, March 23rd! They will be available Monday - Friday from 9 AM PST - 12 PM PST.

Please email us at [email protected] with a date and time that works best and we will be sure to reach out in a quick and efficient manner. If you would prefer to call the office and leave us a message at (408) 255-3223, a staff member will reach out as soon as possible.

During this time, we also feel it is extremely important to take care of YOU!

Reading your favorite book, doing at-home yoga and putting on your favorite face mask or serum is not only physically beneficial, but mentally as well.

To contribute to your self-care routine, we will be offering phone orders for SkinCeuticals products with20% off your total AND free shipping!

What do you have to do? Call the office Monday - Friday between 9 AM PST - 12 PM PST and let us know which products you'd like, we will process your payment over the phone and the products will be shipped directly to your door! If you would prefer curbside-pickup style, we are more than happy to accommodate that as well! (Keeping our 6-foot social distance, of course.)

"It is how we embrace uncertainty in our lives that leads to the great transformations of our souls." - Brandon A. Trean

We will all get through this, together!

Monday, March 16, 2020:

Even with social distancing, we're still here for you.

As the current situation with COVID-19 is rapidly evolving, we are continuing to make decisions regarding our practice to keep ourselves and our community healthy. As the future of this virus is uncertain, it is mandated by Santa Clara County Public Health Department Officials that all non-essential businesses close their doors and shelter in place.

Because of this region-wide order, our office will be closed as of Tuesday, March 17th, 2020 and will be rescheduling all non-emergent treatments, follow up appointments and surgeries after Tuesday, April 7th, 2020.⁣ All future in-office events for March and April have been postponed until further notice.

To those patients that need to be seen urgently for post-operative or emergent appointments - please call our office phone number. Your call will be forwarded to an employee that can best help you as we will still have remote access to our schedule. They will make the necessary arrangements to ensure you receive the proper care. ⁣

We are confident that we will make it through this and become a stronger and smarter community because of it. Yes, most people do not die from COVID-19 and many can be asymptomatic - but the sooner we isolate from one another, the sooner we can make sure those statistics do not change.⁣

As physicians, we hold health to the utmost importance so we please ask those of you who can - work from home when possible, do not go to restaurants or bars, limit your public exposure and be cognizant of those who are sick, elderly or immunocompromised. In this time, we have to not only think of ourselves, but think of those that can be directly affected and do all we can for the sake of our community, our state, and our country.⁣

We do not believe this is a time to panic - but rather the opposite. It is time to be rational and act with extreme purpose. By preventatively closing our doors for the next 3 weeks - we may be helping change the course of a potentially life-changing event in history.⁣

We look forward to a future of health and happiness with you at Cheng Plastic Surgery!⁣

Caring and cautious regards,⁣

Dr. Elbert & Dr. Jacqueline Cheng
