The job market is increasingly ageist, and men are just as concerned as women about staying relevant in the business world. That’s why more and more men come into our office to improve their appearance and combat the signs of aging.

If you’re a man looking to enhance his appearance, we have both a male and female physician available, so you can choose your preference. We have an understanding of the differences required when treating men, especially with regard to facial anatomy and bone structure, and we are sensitive to your specific aesthetic needs, as well as the need for absolute discretion.

Every procedure that our board-certified facial plastic surgeons perform is applicable to you, but there are certain procedures that seem to appeal to men more than others. Below are some of our treatments and surgeries that are most popular with our male patients:

Hair Transplantation

Men experience hair loss more frequently with women, so this is a procedure that we primarily do for men. Hair transplants have come a long way over the years, and today’s methods are not only minimally invasive, but look perfectly natural. Besides the scalp, hair transplants can also be done on the beard, moustache, and chest. Read more about hair transplantation.

Nasal Surgery (Rhinoplasty)

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, this surgery can repair an injury, straighten a crooked nose, fix a bump on the nose, shorten a long nose, narrow a wide nose, and even decrease the size of the nostrils. Changing the nose can have a significant impact on the look of your entire face, and breathing problems can often be fixed simultaneously. Read more about nasal surgery.

Chin Augmentation

A weak or receding chin detracts from your overall appearance and throws off the balance between your chin and other facial features. A chin implant is a surprisingly simple surgery that restores symmetry to the face safely and permanently with minimal scarring. Read more about chin augmentation.

Ear Surgery (Otoplasty)

If you or your son has prominent or misshapen ears, you know how much ridicule can result. Luckily, surgery can correct these issues and restore a normal appearance to the ears. Read more about ear surgery.

Forehead Lift

A forehead lift can correct horizontal wrinkles on the forehead, and it can also lift sagging eyebrows and smooth the “11” lines between the brows. Read more about forehead lift.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery addresses overhanging upper eyelids and/or bags under the eyes that can make you look old and tired. Eyelid surgery is sometimes performed concurrently with a forehead lift. Read more about eyelid surgery.

Facelifts are becoming more popular with men who want to look younger. This surgery addresses the lower portion of the face, tightening sagging skin across the cheeks and in the jowls. Read more about facelift.

Neck Lift

A neck lift picks up where a facelift leaves off, addressing signs of aging in the neck from lax skin to muscle bands. You can also opt to have a combination facelift and neck lift for a more comprehensive improvement. Read more about neck lift.

Laser Hair Removal

While laser hair removal is popular with women, it’s also popular with men who have excessive body hair. If you have hair on your back or wish to remove chest hair or leg hair, which is advantageous for some athletes, this procedure provides excellent results. If you suffer skin irritation from constant shaving, laser hair removal on the face can reduce the need to shave. Read more about laser hair removal.

Laser Vein Removal

If you have excessive redness on the face from broken blood vessels/spider veins, this laser procedure will restore a normal skin tone to your face. Read more about laser vein removal.

Non-Surgical Skin Tightening Procedures

Precision Tx, Thermage CPT, and Ultherapy are non-surgical procedures that tighten facial skin, such as sagging jowls and upper eyelids, without incisions. These procedures can help you look younger in a subtle way without the downtime associated with surgery. For the body, we offer SmartLipo and Coolsculpting, which can get rid of stubborn bulges like love handles and belly fat.

Injectables to Combat Aging

Botox® injections target lines and wrinkles caused by muscle activity, such as frown lines and crow’s feet, while dermal fillers restore lost volume in the face. These include Juvéderm®, Juvéderm® Voluma XC, Restylane®, Perlane®, and Sculptra®. We can even remove fat cells from the body using SmartLipo and inject them into the face where there is lost volume. That procedure is called Fat Transfer.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Monday, January 4, 2021:

We are open!

We cannot wait to see all of our amazing patients in our office! We are currently working with a more limited schedule than before, so please be patient as we navigate through this, together.

There are a few key changes we’ve made to our appointment protocol to ensure we are maintaining social distancing and following strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols - for you AND for us.

  1. Call our office from your car once you’ve arrived for your appointment. A staff member will come out to greet you, take your temperature and conduct a short COVID-19 health screening to make sure you are in good health prior to entering the building. Our doors will remain locked during normal business hours to ensure only those who have been screened can enter.
  2. Please arrive at your appointment wearing a mask or protective face covering. We will not be able to bring you inside the office without one.
  3. We will not have more than one patient in the lobby at a time.
  4. You will be greeted by Dr. Elbert or Dr. Jacqueline wearing their Personal Protective Equipment deemed necessary by your specific treatment. (N95 mask, gloves, face shield or protective eyewear, etc.) We ask that you leave your mask on during the procedure, and only take it off if necessary to complete the treatment.
  5. All necessary transactions will be done in the room your treatment is being performed. This will avoid unnecessary back ups in the lobby.
  6. You will then be walked out through the back door of the office. This is the best way to keep all staff and patients socially distanced while maintaining one steady flow of traffic throughout the building.

And of course, all rooms will be heavily disinfected immediately after you leave just as we have always done prior to the pandemic. Each room is equipped with an air filter as an added safety measure. We will place a major focus on high-contact areas such as chairs, doorknobs, counter tops, mirrors and more.

We are still continuing to conduct Virtual Consultations if you prefer a quicker and no-contact experience.

Virtual Consultation

For the safety of our patients and staff, we ask that you reschedule your appointment and do not enter our office with any of the following conditions:

  1. You have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  2. You have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  3. You traveled more than 150 miles or have been in close contact with someone who has traveled in the last 10 days.
  4. You are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
    • fever or chills
    • cough
    • shortness of breath
    • fatigue
    • muscle or body aches
    • headaches
    • sore throat
    • loss of taste or smell
    • nausea, diarrhea, or vomiting

Concerned about getting the Moderna vaccine after having recently received filler treatment? In some studies, it has been observed that a small percentage of the vaccinated groups experienced localized inflammation (swelling) after receiving the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine. In said cases, all studied reactions were temporary immune responses. It has been suggested that patients refrain from getting filler two weeks before and after the vaccine. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office!

Thank you for your continued support and we can't wait to see you again!

Kindest Regards,,

Dr. Elbert, Dr. Jacqueline and staff at Cheng Plastic Surgery
