VASER Lipo removes unwanted fat in an advanced, minimally invasive liposuction procedure. VASER stands for “vibration amplification of sound energy at resonance.” This technologically advanced body contouring procedure has improved upon traditional liposuction with the use of an ultrasonic device to loosen excess fat cells for gentle extraction, and “high definition” results.

What is VASER Lipo, and how does it work?

VASER Lipo is an advanced body contouring procedure that removes unwanted body fat on several body areas. VASER Lipo is less invasive than traditional liposuction. Its unique technology uses ultrasound waves for custom body contouring. The difference is its ability to remove targeted fat while preserving vital tissues such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue. VASER technology produces custom-contoured results and a faster healing time.

What are the Benefits of VASER Lipo?

  • Gentler on the body resulting in less bruising and faster recovery times
  • Only a local anesthesia is needed allowing you to be awake during the procedure
  • Creates smoother, more natural results
  • Less overall discomfort during the procedure
  • More precise contouring
  • Larger amounts of fat can be removed

Who is a candidate for VASER Lipo?

If you are close to your optimal weight and have been frustrated that diet and exercise have not achieved the results you are looking for then VASER Lipo might be right for you. Many healthy men and women have seen the benefits of this minimally invasive, low-pain solution. If you have stubborn fatty areas that are affecting your figure, explore the option of VASER lipo.

How does it differ from traditional liposuction?

The main difference between our Palo Alto VASER Lipo treatment and traditional liposuction is how the fat extraction is accomplished. Traditional liposuction uses a cannula and aspirator to remove fat cells. The process involves moving the cannula back and forth to dislodge fat cells. VASER Lipo uses ultrasonic waves to release the fat, dislodging it from the tissue, leading to less trauma to the healthy surrounding tissues.

What is recovery like after treatment?

The number of areas you are treating will determine the length of time you’ll need for recovery. VASER Lipo is a minimally invasive procedure, requiring about a week to recover. If your job requires a lot of movement or is physically demanding, you might need more time.

What areas of the body can be treated?

  • Abdomen
  • Thighs
  • Hips
  • Back
  • Arms
  • Legs
  • Just about any body part with fatty areas

What are the side effects of VASER Lipo?

When it comes to any surgery, there are always side effects to consider. During your consultation at Cheng Plastic Surgery, we will review all your questions and discuss risks and side effects to help you make an educated decision about body sculpting.

Can VASER Lipo tighten my skin?

VASER Lipo not only removes excess fat but has the added benefit of tightening your skin to avoid dimpling and irregularities that may be left with traditional liposuction. VASER Lipo is a great option, as it creates a smoother outcome.

How long does the procedure take?

A VASER Lipo treatment can take an hour or longer, depending on the areas of your body to be reshaped and sculpted.

When will I see results?

Improvements can be seen by most immediately following their procedure. However, it will take three to six months to achieve optimal results. If you wish to learn more, contact us today and schedule a consultation to receive arguably the best results after VASER Lipo San Jose has to offer.

Practice Policy Update Regarding COVID-19

Monday, January 4, 2021:

We are open!

We cannot wait to see all of our amazing patients in our office! We are currently working with a more limited schedule than before, so please be patient as we navigate through this, together.

There are a few key changes we’ve made to our appointment protocol to ensure we are maintaining social distancing and following strict COVID-19 health and safety protocols - for you AND for us.

  1. Call our office from your car once you’ve arrived for your appointment. A staff member will come out to greet you, take your temperature and conduct a short COVID-19 health screening to make sure you are in good health prior to entering the building. Our doors will remain locked during normal business hours to ensure only those who have been screened can enter.
  2. Please arrive at your appointment wearing a mask or protective face covering. We will not be able to bring you inside the office without one.
  3. We will not have more than one patient in the lobby at a time.
  4. You will be greeted by Dr. Elbert or Dr. Jacqueline wearing their Personal Protective Equipment deemed necessary by your specific treatment. (N95 mask, gloves, face shield or protective eyewear, etc.) We ask that you leave your mask on during the procedure, and only take it off if necessary to complete the treatment.
  5. All necessary transactions will be done in the room your treatment is being performed. This will avoid unnecessary back ups in the lobby.
  6. You will then be walked out through the back door of the office. This is the best way to keep all staff and patients socially distanced while maintaining one steady flow of traffic throughout the building.

And of course, all rooms will be heavily disinfected immediately after you leave just as we have always done prior to the pandemic. Each room is equipped with an air filter as an added safety measure. We will place a major focus on high-contact areas such as chairs, doorknobs, counter tops, mirrors and more.

We are still continuing to conduct Virtual Consultations if you prefer a quicker and no-contact experience.

Concerned about getting the Moderna vaccine after having recently received filler treatment? In some studies, it has been observed that a small percentage of the vaccinated groups experienced localized inflammation (swelling) after receiving the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine. In said cases, all studied reactions were temporary immune responses. It has been suggested that patients refrain from getting filler two weeks before and after the vaccine. If you have any questions, please feel free to call our office!

Thank you for your continued support and we can't wait to see you again!

Kindest Regards,,

Dr. Elbert, Dr. Jacqueline and staff at Cheng Plastic Surgery
