What is Latisse®?

Latisse® is a product by Allergan, the maker of Botox® and Juvéderm®, that can make your eyelashes grow longer, darker, and fuller. It is a prescription product made of bimatoprost ophthalmic, which extends the growth cycle of your eyelashes.

Some women even feel that they no longer need to wear mascara as long as they use Latisse®. This product must be used regularly in order to maintain its results. If use is stopped, your eyelashes will return to their original length, thickness, and color within a few weeks.

Be sure to ask us about the Allergan Brilliant Distinctions Patient Loyalty Program. You will earn points toward rebates on future treatments every time you have a Botox®, Juvéderm®, Voluma, or Kybella® treatment or purchase SkinCeuticals products or Latisse® in our office!

Your Latisse® Treatment

You can purchase Latisse® in our office after a brief consultation with Dr. Cheng. You apply it to your own eyelashes daily. We will provide you with full instructions for its use. You only have to apply it to the upper lashes. As you blink, the lower lashes will receive enough of the product to be effective in this area.

Latisse® comes with sterile applicators that are disposable. After applying Latisse® daily for a few weeks, you will begin to see results, and the full results will become evident after 16 weeks of use. Daily application is required to maintain your beautiful, rejuvenated eyelashes.

Recovering from Latisse®

Latisse® requires no recovery, but you will have to wait for the results to be evident. It takes up to four months for your lashes to become longer, darker, and fuller.

Latisse® is very safe; but if you have very sensitive eyes or allergies that affect your eyes, let us know so that we can help you decide if Latisse® is right for you. You should not use Latisse® if you are pregnant.

Contact lens wearers can use Latisse®, but the product must be applied when the lenses have been removed. Lenses can then be reinserted 15 minutes after application of Latisse®.
