Our San Jose CoolSculpting treatment is a completely non-invasive, fat-freezing technology that melts away fat by literally freezing it to death. A non-surgical procedure developed by scientists at Harvard, it has been proven effective in a number of clinical studies. It removes fat and recontours the body, requiring little to no downtime.

What are the benefits of CoolSculpting?

  • Most CoolSculpting procedures only last for a few minutes, allowing you to squeeze it into a busy schedule.
  • You can resume your daily activities immediately without downtime.
  • Non-surgical and non-invasive procedure, so there’s no risk of scarring.
  • Natural-looking results because it makes your body naturally metabolize and eliminate fat cells over time. The results will be similar to losing fat through regular exercise.
  • You can see considerable results within 8 to 12 weeks.
  • Allows the spot-reduction of fat cells from targeted regions, such as the stomach, love handles, thighs, or other parts of the body.
  • Long-lasting results, as long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle and diet.

How Does Coolsculpting Work?

Most types of cells in the body die, according to a “schedule.” These dead cells are then shed by the immune system, and new cells take their place. Unfortunately, fat cells work differently. Once fat cells form, they might shrink during weight loss, but they do not die on their own, nor are they removed from the body. This is why it is so easy to gain back weight after dieting.

The good news is that fat cells do not like the cold and, as most things do, will freeze when they reach a certain temperature. Just as water crystallizes when it is frozen, so will your fat cells but, upon reaching the target temperature, they will die.

What is the General Cost of CoolSculpting?

The cost of a CoolSculpting procedure varies significantly from one individual to the next. Everyone is different, and our cosmetic surgeons will curate the CoolSculpting treatment to your specific needs. When you schedule a consultation, our cosmetic surgeons will discuss your goals and expectations to curate the ideal CoolSculpting treatment plan and discuss the cost of treatment.

What Areas Can You Treat With CoolSculpting?

The CoolSculpting® system has several different applicators that vary in size and shape, allowing Dr. Elbert T. Cheng and Dr. Jacqueline T. Cheng to personalize each patient’s treatment and get the best possible results.

We can treat the abdomen, flanks, “bra fat,” thighs, and arms. Ultimately, you will lose 20 to 25 percent of the fat cells in the treated area. Also, due to the technology of CoolSculpting and the precise targeting of the area to be treated, there is no damage to the skin.

What is the Coolsculpting Procedure?

The applicator is applied to the area to be treated, and the machine’s vacuum device sucks the tissue in that area into the applicator’s cup. Then, the machine freezes that area for a full hour. When the applicator comes off, the area is massaged to break down the crystals. Some of the fat cells die during that process and others are programmed for cell death over the next few weeks.

The procedure takes one to three hours to complete. You can relax, read, or work on your laptop while the CoolSculpting technology does its work. There are no needles, no incisions, no prep, except for determining and laying out exactly where the applicator should be positioned for optimal results.

What is the Recovery From CoolSculpting?

The surrounding tissue is not affected by CoolSculpting, but you may have minimal bruising and discomfort. Most people go right back to their normal routines immediately after the treatment. Typically, you will see the results after just one session of CoolSculpting in San Jose, but if you want to rid yourself of additional weight, you can schedule additional appointments.

Dr. Elbert Cheng and his staff were extremely welcoming, accommodating and showed a genuine care for each person who walked in through the door. His consultation was quick, informative and he was very clear about all options available to me.

FAQ

Q: Once the fat cells die and are removed, will the body regenerate those fat cells?

A: The body will not regenerate those fat cells. Once they are gone, they are gone. This is not to say that there will never be new fat cells stored in your body, but this is dependent on diet, lifestyle and other factors. If you gain weight, you will be adding fat content to the remaining cells, so it is important to watch your weight to maintain your beautiful, sculpted figure. If you wish to learn more, contact us today and schedule a consultation for arguably the best treatment of CoolSculpting San Jose has to offer.

Q: How much doesn’t CoolSculpting cost?

A: The cost of a CoolSculpting procedure may range from $2,000 to $4,000, but the specific cost depends on several factors. The cost of the treatment primarily depends on the number of sessions necessary and the treatment area. During your consultation, our cosmetic doctors will discuss your goals, curate the ideal treatment plan, and provide a detailed breakdown of the costs involved. We can also help you figure out flexible payment plans.

Q: Which parts of the body can CoolSculpting treat?

A: CoolSculpting is FDA-approved to treat visible fat pockets in the submental region (under the chin), submandibular region (under the jawline), upper arms, bra fat, face fat, abdomen, thighs, underneath the buttocks, and the flanks.

Q: How long does a CoolSculpting treatment take?

A: The precise duration of the CoolSculpting treatment depends on the area being treated. Some of the smaller regions can be treated within 30 minutes, but the amount of time may increase depending on how large the area being treated is.

Q: How many CoolSculpting treatments do I need?

A: A single CoolSculpting session generally produces a 20% to 25% fat reduction. However, multiple treatments are normally recommended for the best results and are dependent upon your treatment areas and cosmetic goals. Our cosmetic surgeons will discuss your expectations to recommend the ideal number of treatments necessary to achieve your goals.

Q: When will I see the CoolSculpting results?

A: You’ll start noticing the CoolSculpting results within 1 to 3 months, and the final results may be visible in about 6 months.
